The Cribs NYC Show Moves to Santos Party House Tomorrow 6/6

PANDA WATCH! As The Cribs kick off a summer US tour, their NYC show this Wednesday (aka, tomorrow, 6/6) has changed locales from Irving Plaza to Santos Party House. You can still get tickets ova here! And after seeing them this spring, we heartily suggest you do.

In the meantime, check out their latest video for "Glitters like Gold" after the jump, from recent album In the Belly of the Brazen Bull. This version features a super special throw back to the days of VH1's Pop Up Video, a show that I clearly spent hours watching as an information-hungry young lass.

The Beach Boys "Do It Again" for their 50th Anniversary

Have you been living under a rock and didn't know that The Beach Boys are about to fill your longing-for-summer souls with more California surfer music from yesteryear? Well, look alive, people, because it just keeps happening!

Following up their Grammy performance and the announcement of a 50th Anniversary Tour, the band has issued a new cover of their classic hit, “Do It Again”, keeping breath baited for their upcoming shows and new studio LP. The video features all surviving original members working in the studio (hugs!), along with some sexy snippets of the Cali coast. It will certainly bring a smile to your cold, February heart!

Well THAT was fast! Chris had his mind blown by hardcore rockers Ceremony just twelve days ago at Le Poisson Rouge, and now Clash reports that the band has released a video for "World Blue," the new single from their upcoming album Zoo (due out March 5 on Matador). 

Interestingly enough, the video consists of edited footage of said LPR show and may or may not feature Chris literally getting his head kicked. Check it out below!

The Big Sleep @ The Fort Brooklyn,  12/8/11

We've been big fans of Brooklyn's The Big Sleep for awhile now, and their newly-released album Nature Experiments is on heavy rotation on our musical devices. And in honor of the love-fest that is Valentine's Day, they've released an awesomely creepy music video for Nature track "Valentine." Turn your moodlighting back up, give your R. Kelly playlist a break, and check it out after the jump. Be sure to pick up the album on vinyl from Goodnight Records.

Big Sleep fans in the South, West, and Chicago will have a chance to see them rock live starting later this month at The Satellite in Los Angeles on the 24th, including a trip to Austin's awesome SXSW Music Festival in March. All tour dates are below and they'll be teaming up with bands like Archers of Loaf, Hospitality, Cloud Nothings, and A Place To Bury Strangers along the way, so be sure to rock along.

Watch: Lee Ranaldo -- "Off The Wall" (Official Video

It's a pretty ballsy move to have a song named "Off The Wall" in our post-Michael Jackson world, but if anyone can pull it off it's Sonic Youth axeman Lee Ranaldo. It sounds pretty great, and now Matador notes that it's got an official companion video that you can check out below.

The video mixes live footage of Ranaldo's recent Glasslands Gallery show with other random shots for a classic SY feel. And since he's keen on using live shots, maybe he'll work footage from his next show with M. Ward at Webster Hall on May 11 (tickets) into a video for another song off of the upcoming LP Between The Tides And The Times. We shall see. Be sure to check him out when he swings through your city too - 2012 Spring Tour dates below.

Watch: St. Vincent -- "Cheerleader" Official Music Video & More

As we've noted many a time here on FN, we're huge fans of Future Nostalgia posterwoman St. Vincent. Having rocked a great live performance of Strange Mercy's "Cheerleader" on Conan a couple of weeks back,  the songstress offered up the premiere of the track's official video on YouTube. Produced by Hiro Murai, the video centers around the adventures of a giant Annie Clark as she liberates herself from being gawked at in a museum. And yes, it gets weird.

St. Vincent has also been pretty active in the world of one of our favorite shows, Portlandia, where she not only appeared on the latest episode as a sexy cop (damn you Fred Armisen!) but also covered Pearl Jam's "Black" on the NYC stop of the live Portlandia tour. Watch: The Magnetic Fields -- "Andrew In Drag" (Official Video)

Woohoo! We now have just a little over a month to wait until The Magnetic Fields' new album, Love At The Bottom Of The Sea, via Merge and a full-on Stephin Merritt World Domination Tour. Thankfully we've been getting cool updates and album teasers in the interim, and today we're pleased to share the new video for leadoff single "Andrew In Drag."

NPR premiered the video and advises that it contains nudity, but since you're reading a blog with the word "Fucking" in the title, we're sure you're probably okay with it. Watch after the jump, and get tickets to their upcoming Beacon Theatre show by any means necessary (except, like, murder or theft.)

Watch: Mark Lanegan Band -- "The Gravedigger's Song" (Official Video)

We've already shared the stomping, appropriately sinister leadoff single from rock 'n roll badass Mark Lanegan upcoming album Blues Funeral, and now "The Gravedigger's Song" has an awesome official video to go along with it. Check it out in all of its creepy horror-film-homage goodness below, thanks to Consequence of Sound, and be sure to pick up Blues Funeral when it's released on February 6 via 4AD.

Watch: Wilco -- "Dawned On Me" (Official Video)

It's been a busy week for indie-folk kings Wilco, for sure. Having just stopped by Conan on Monday to rock through "The Whole Love" and Dawned On Me," the band today unveiled the new official video for the latter song with some faces that should be familiar to any red-blooded Amurrican cartoon viewer born in the past few decades.

Yep - Popeye, Olive Oyl, and Bluto all swing by to have another one of their wacky adventures in this video, all set to the sounds of a cartoon version of Wilco performing on a deck. It's the first official hand-drawn Popeye cartoon produced in 30 years, and it's even cooler than the concept sounds. Check it out below (thanks to PFork for the tip).

Watch They Might Be Giants' "When Will You Die?" + 2012 Tour Dates + A Monster Hearse

Yep, a lot going on with that title. Hometown heroes They Might Be Giants are following up on an impressively rad 2011 with a 2012 winter/spring tour, kicking off with a January 26 appearance on Conan and a special 30th Anniversary show at UCLA's Royce Hall in Los Angeles on the 28th. The tour will wrap up on March 10 back here at NYC's Terminal 5 (yeah yeah suck it up and get tickets), but check out the full schedule below the jump to see when they'll be in/near your town inbetween.

Additionally, the Johns have released a new music video for "When Will You Die?" off of their excellent release proper LP Join Us, which you can also check out below the jump. The video features a real-life version of that day-glo pink monster truck hearse that graces the album's cover, a PDF replica of which you can download over here because why not.

Watch: Real Estate -- "Easy" (Official Music Video)

We mentioned they'd be a band to keep an eye on in 2012, and New Jersey's Real Estate are starting the year off strong with a new video for "Easy," a cut off of their critically-lauded-by-us sophomore album Days. Directed by The Best Show On WFMU's Tom Scharpling and premiering on Funny Or Die, the video is a pretty awesome parody on how psychotic street teams for indie bands can be.

Future Nostalgia -- Watch Fucked Up's "Turn The Season" (Official Music Video)

As one of our premiere Future Nostalgia bands, we're extremely psyched that Toronto hardcore punk band Fucked Up have had such an awesome year. Basically every music news outlet in the world has dubbed their latest release David Comes To Life one of the Best of 2011, and SPIN Magazine has gone ahead and just given them the top spot on their list as well.

So might as well top it all off with a new music video, right? Matablog points to the new clip for "Turn The Season," which was shot during the SPIN photo shoot for the album's artwork. Check it out below and Spotify the whole LP if you haven't yet done so to see why they've totally earned all the props they've received. And if you're in New York, once you've done all THAT, shell out the $10 it'll take to get you in to see the band rock out live this Friday (12/16) at the Brooklyn Night Bazaar.

Watch: The Cure -- "A Forest" (Bestival Live 2011 Release)

Despite what The Rock 'N Roll Hall Of Fame thinks, The Cure are one of the greatest bands of all time, with recent live performances at our own Beacon Theatre to prove it. And to follow up on the recent release of their double-LP Bestival Live 2011 compilation (including "Boys Don't Cry" of course), the band has shared an exclusive clip of their performance of "A Forest" from the festival.

Julian Koster (The Music Tapes) Announces 2011 Holiday Caroling Tour, Releases New Music Tapes Video

Julian Koster, former touring member of Neutral Milk Hotel, current touring member of Olivia Tremor Control, and frontman for his own The Music Tapes, is an eccentric guy. I think that quality is a prerequisite for admission to the Elephant Six Collective… they’re all pretty wacky in their own ways. So it really comes as no surprise that Koster today has announced that, following an annual tradition since 2008, he and his Caroling Ambassadors of singing saws will be accepting invitations to carol at homes along the East Coast of the US and Canada from November 28 to December 12.

That’s right… invite Julian to carol at your home and he will make it happen. The final list of dates will be announced just prior to the commencement of the tour. If you’d like to invite Koster, email musictapescaroling2011@gmail.com. Also be sure to check out a new video from The Music Tapes (who we saw give a great opening performance for the Olivia Tremor Control back in September) below, courtesy of Merge Records.

Fuck yeah. Thanks to Bob Dylan's son Jesse, we now have a music video for "Satisfied" off of Tom Waits' latest album Bad As Me. It features Waits just being completely badass in his backyard with a chair and some clapping. And when you're Tom Waits, that's really all you need to blow everyone else's music videos out of the water.

Watch: Modeselektor & Thom Yorke -- "Shipwreck" (Happy Halloween)

German electronic badasses Modeselektor are getting us in the Halloween holiday spirit this afternoon thanks to the video for "Shipwreck," a cut off their new album Monkeytown that features none other that Radiohead's Thom Yorke. With an apparent nod to The Walking Dead, the video follows a boy as he narrowly avoids zombies and wild dogs in a post-apocalyptic cityscape, all set to Modeselektor's twitchy beats and Yorke's falsetto. It's wicked stuff.

It's New They Might Be Giants Music Video Time! While it feels like they might be on track to make music videos for every track off of their latest album Join Us due to the frequency with which they've done so so far, we're always cool with new stuff from the Johns.

It's a very well-shot video centered around a cute alien hunter who drives through the desert in a Volvo hunting stray aliens wearing human clothes. Naturally.

So it's looking like summertime is when all of our favorite veteran artists get together with their favorite directors, head outside, and make new music videos to put out the first full week of September. Cool by us, so here is our fourth music video post in half as many days featuring Stephen Malkmus and The Jicks' "Tigers" from their excellent new release Mirror Traffic.
