Family: the strongest bond of all. Forged in the deep, lava pits of Mordor, the bond of family is one that cannot ever be broken, one that will truly stand the test of time for all eternity, when good and evil come together and produce the fiery sounds of garage rock-revival music for the early 21st century, putting an end to human suffering for once and for all!! Phew!

Of course, I’m referring to The Cribs, who began their summer US tour last week and made a little pit-stop over at the Santos Party House on the way. To date, The Brothers Jarman have joined the ranks of some of my fave groups of brotherly love, alongside musical talents like The Jackson 5, Oasis, and the insurmountable musical genius of Hanson.

PANDA WATCH! As The Cribs kick off a summer US tour, their NYC show this Wednesday (aka, tomorrow, 6/6) has changed locales from Irving Plaza to Santos Party House. You can still get tickets ova here! And after seeing them this spring, we heartily suggest you do.

In the meantime, check out their latest video for "Glitters like Gold" after the jump, from recent album In the Belly of the Brazen Bull. This version features a super special throw back to the days of VH1's Pop Up Video, a show that I clearly spent hours watching as an information-hungry young lass.

The Cribs returned to Music Hall of Brooklyn on Friday the 13th, two years after their last NYC appearance at the same venue. Following stops in Portland, Seattle, Minneapolis, Chicago, and Canada, The Cribs felt right at home at the familiar concert hall.

I was ecstatic to discover the indie punk band is indeed going back to its old school roots. Following Johnny Marr’s exit from the group last year, twins Gary (on bass, vocals) and Ryan Jarman (guitar, vocals), along with their younger brother Ross on drums, are back to touring as a trio. While we all loved watching the former Smiths guitarist rock out with The Cribs, there is no denying that the brothers pack more punch as a trio.

My first encounter with The Cribs came in the summer of 2007 at Lollapalooza in Chicago. Under the sweltering sun in Grant Park, I quickly fell for their beguiling good looks, stinging guitars, and infectious vocals.

The Cribs Releasing New Album In May + Spring 2012 Tour Dates

Following a spate of festival appearances and the notable departure of legendary The Smiths / Modest Mouse guitarist Johnny Marr from their ranks, British indie rockers The Cribs are getting set to release their fifth full-length album on May 8 via Wichita Recordings. Entitled In The Belly Of The Brazen Bull, the LP finds the Wakefield natives back in their classic trio lineup with 14 new tracks, the names of which you can check out after the jump.

For a little taste of what this new record will sound like, you can grab its first Steve Albini-produced single "Chi-Town" right over here. The Cribs will be hitting the road in April and May for North American and UK tours, respectively, stopping by Brooklyn's Music Hall of Williamsburg on April 13. A limited number of tickets to the North American shows will be available for presale on the band's Facebook page beginning this Thursday (February 16), so hop on that goodness.
