The Jesus And Mary Chain Are Playing Irving Plaza In September (Tickets On Sale Friday 6/22)

The headline summarizes the news well enough on its own, but it's worth repeating. The Reid brothers and the rest of The Jesus And Mary Chain, who were slated to tour in the Southern US, Canada, and elsewhere on the East Coast this fall, have officially announced two NYC shows at Irving Plaza on September 13 & 14.

Tickets go on sale this Friday (June 22), and you can grab 'em up on Live Nation. Check out the rest of the tour dates below, and keep an eye out for more as they get announced. (Hat Tip: BV)

The Cribs NYC Show Moves to Santos Party House Tomorrow 6/6

PANDA WATCH! As The Cribs kick off a summer US tour, their NYC show this Wednesday (aka, tomorrow, 6/6) has changed locales from Irving Plaza to Santos Party House. You can still get tickets ova here! And after seeing them this spring, we heartily suggest you do.

In the meantime, check out their latest video for "Glitters like Gold" after the jump, from recent album In the Belly of the Brazen Bull. This version features a super special throw back to the days of VH1's Pop Up Video, a show that I clearly spent hours watching as an information-hungry young lass.

Sebadoh is playing Bowery Ballroom 8/22, and releasing a new EP

When we heard news that quintessential indie trio Sebadoh were heading back into the studio to record their first batch of new songs in TWELVE YEARS, we sort of went crazy and told off our bosses and spent all of our savings and stopped going to the gym and ended up moving back into our parents' houses. It was a downward spiral that was bound to take place sooner or later. But I digress.

Though it's looking like a new Sebadoh LP won't be finished until early 2013, our good friend The Backstage Rider tells us that a batch of songs--separate from the LP--will be released as an EP before an east coast tour that begins August 7! That tour will hit Bowery Ballroom on August 22, and you can find all tour dates below. Tickets for the 8/22 show will go on sale Thursday at 12pm. In addition to Sebadoh headlining, the openers are Lou Barlow solo and Circle of Buzzards (aka Jason Loewenstein and Bob D'amico of Sebadoh). It's a full on Sebanight.

The Hives are Coming to the NYC! (and other places, too!)

Smartly dressed Swedish rockers The Hives are heading this way in June, thankfully returning after tomorrow night's once "secret" show over at the Studio @ Webster Hall. Seriously, who won that contest?! 

Starting in May, the boys are taking their skinny-jean-wearing behinds to Europe for a spell, playing a whole shebang of festivals and undoubtedly leaving a trail of swooning, scissor-kicking and stage diving behind them. They're back in the states on June 19th, starting off in DC before playing the NYC's Terminal 5.

Plants And Animals Kick Off NYC Residency Tonight At Littlefield (Mercury Lounge Tomorrow)

Yo. Hey. ::snaps:: Eyes on the text, ladies.

The handsome gentlemen pictured above are none other than the Canadian post-classic rock trio Plants And Animals, who recently kicked off their Spring 2012 North American tour that'll bring them to NYC for the next 48 hours. They'll be performing tracks off of their recently released third LP, The End Of That (via Secret City Records), tonight at Littlefield in Brooklyn (tickets) and tomorrow night at Manhattan's Mercury Lounge (more tickets), so be sure to swing by, check them out, and say hi to FN's own Trista Hou who will be reviewing the first show.

...Gonna go ahead and assume you went back to staring at the picture, but after the jump you can check out the new video for End Of That's titular track featuring a spot-on Engelbert Humperdink impression. You can also check out the video for the very awesome album cut "Lightshow," streams of "Lightshow" and "Song For Love," and a cover of a song that'll net you some indie cred and possibly a cookie if you correctly ID its original creators in the comments. Hot Chip Get You Dizzy With "Flutes" (+ More 2012 Tour Dates)

Oh man. Having seen Al Doyle kick a ton of ass in affiliated band New Build (more on that later), the return of British dance wizards Hot Chip is even more exciting than when we first reported it. They just put out a (very dizzingly) in-studio video for the leadoff single "Flutes" from their upcoming album In Our Heads (out June 6), and today Pitchfork reports they've announced even MORE summer tour dates, including a stop at our very own Prospect Park Bandshell in Brooklyn on July 18. We'll keep you posted on the ticket sale date.

Hey, remember that time back in the summer of 2001 when we showed up to Stone Mountain 8 hours before the Radiohead show with the intention of spending the day hiking up the "mountain" [read: large mound of granite]? Yeah, we wound up spending the entire day sitting on the blacktop in the 95 degree heat waiting with the other diehard fans hoping to get a choice spot right in front of the stage at the general admission show. I don't think I peed once that entire day. From a distance, I was able to hear them play "Like Spinning Plates" during the soundcheck and I just about lost my mind in excitement (alas, they didn't play it during the show). How about that time we bailed on that super-important Circuits lecture back in college to make it to the amphitheater in time to hang out in the parking lot for 3 hours before the show? How about that last time when we realized we were adults and showed up at 7pm with the reasonable people?

Remember all that? OF COURSE YOU DON'T!!! You're not me! Get your own memories! I bet you have some similar stories though, don't you? I heard on Twitter that there were kids lined up by the Philips Arena entrance as early as 7am.

Radiohead Schedules Additional East Coast Tour Dates (+ Stream Jonny's New Album)

Oh man, happy Monday to US! As British rock titans Radiohead continue on their 2012 World Tour (you can almost literally Follow Them Around on it, by the way), the band has added even more dates to the run centered around their headlining slot at Bonnaroo in June. And as the 'Roo takes place in Tennessee, you know what that means: EAST COAST TOUR DATES!!

You can check out the updated schedule for June on their website - no NYC dates listed, but they will be swinging by nearby Newark, NJ's Prudential Center for two shows on May 31 and June 1, and then back to Camden, NJ on June 13 for a show at the Susquehanna Bank Center. Tickets for all three Jersey shows go on sale on March 8, as well as for shows in Massachusetts, Washington D.C., Toronto, and throughout the Midwest. Good luck, FN readers!

Meanwhile, Radiohead's virtuouso guitarist Jonny Greenwood (you're awesome too, Ed) has teamed up with his own idol - the Polish composer Kryzsztof Penderecki - on a new orchestral album, which you can stream over at NPR right now. Suffice to say, it's a great day to be a Radiohead fan.

Off! Releasing New Album In May, playing Bowery Ballroom 5/29

I managed to catch Keith Morris's latest band Off! three times last year (at SXSW, Terminal 5 and House of Vans), and each time my immediate reaction was always the same: "Holy. Fucking. Shit." The hardcore punk "supergroup" (if that exists in the world of hardcore) released their debut album The First Four EPs in 2010, which was 18 songs long and clocked in at a lengthy 18 minutes... that's an average of a minute per song if you're keeping track.

And now the band has managed to record a follow up which, according to their press release, "[barrels] through sixteen high intensity tracks in as many minutes, the album demonstrates the LA quartet had still further to ratchet up their visceral sonic maelstrom, delivering a "dark party" soundtrack of unleashed exasperation and bitterness executed with a rigorous precision that more than lives up to the cavalcade of accolades heaped upon them so far by the likes of Pitchfork, NPR, LA Times, among many others." 

Sounds awesome. OFF! will be released on May 8 on Vice Records and will do a short tour that brings them to Bowery Ballroom on May 29, for which tickets just went on sale at 12pm. Below, check out some videos of Off! live, as well as their tour schedule...

Hot Chip Releasing New Album On June 12 (+ 2012 Summer Tour Dates)

The once and future kings of British dance-punk Hot Chip haven't released a new album since 2010's One Life Stand - likely because they've been busy rocking out with LCD Soundsystem and forming more dance-punk outposts like New Build, among other things. But as Pitchfork reports, Alexis Taylor and the gang will be back on June 12 with the release of their 5th LP, In Our Heads, which will be their first on their new label Domino Records (sorry DFA).

They're hitting the road three days after the album drops for a summer tour that includes Pitchfork's own 2012 Music Festival but mysteriously doesn't include a NYC date as of yet. Check out the tracklist and current tour dates below, and we'll keep you posted when they come rock another great show here.

Watch Radiohead Perform Two New Songs In Miami

It feels like awhile since we've heard from my favorite band in the world, Radiohead. But that radio silence (yeah I said it) ended last night as Thom Yorke and the gang kicked off their long-awaited 2012 world tour in Miami with a 25-song show featuring not one but TWO brand new songs!

Check out fan footage of "Identikit" and "Cut A Hole" below, along with a clip of Radiohead performing "Meeting In The Aisle" off of the Airbag / How Am I Driving EP for the first time ever. Mark Lanegan Announces More Tour Dates (Webster Hall In May)

You didn't think he'd stop at just two US shows, did you? Not at all. Gravelly-voiced Mark Lanegan announced this week that he and his band will return to America for a full-on tour around the excellent new LP Blues Funeral following their current European jaunt.

The tour includes a stop at our own Webster Hall on May 10. Tickets for that inevitable awesomeness are on sale TODAY (2/24) at noon ET, so definitely get on that. Check out the other North American tour dates below to see when Lanegan will be rocking your town.

Codeine announces US tour dates (playing LPR and The Bell House this Summer)

We've previously reported on the reunion of Codeine for a performance at ATP I'll Be Your Mirror London in May, and now we have US dates to look forward to as well. For New Yorkers, the band will be performing on June 29 at The Bell House and July 15 at Le Poisson Rouge. Tickets for both shows go on general sale this Friday (2/24).

Fiona Apple Announces US Tour Dates!

Hear ye! Hear ye! Brush the dust and accumulated tears off yo' copies of Tidal, for Fiona Apple is returning to the world in 2012! Yes, we've all heard the rumors of a new album this year, but baby, talk is cheap and tour dates are the TRUTH (usually).

Following her appearance at this year's SXSW, Ms. Apple is scheduled to visit our glorious city TWICE! A full list of dates (so far) is below, as well as the video for "Sleep to Dream", which, if you're wondering, I still know all the words to.

Watch Cake Perform On Conan (2/16)

Sacramento alt rockers Cake have been kicking ass for over 20 years now, and their performance on last night's episode of Conan showed that there's no sign they're about to stop doing that anytime soon. They rocked through "Mustache Man" off of their latest LP Showroom Of Compassion, and you can check out video of that performance below.

Be sure to catch them at Solana Beach's Belly-Up and The Palladium in LA this weekend if you can find a way in, or on tour in April and May elsewhere if you can't / are nowhere near California.

Whoa: Kraftwerk Announce 8-Night, 8-Album NYC Residency At The MoMA

DUDE. We tend to get a bit spoiled as New Yorkers, as pretty much every band we could possibly want to see comes to rock a show here at some point. But occasionally artists seem to dig our fair city so much that they hook us up with multi-night residencies that happen in few or no other places in the world (sup Björk).

Enter German electro pioneers Kraftwerk, who according to The New York Times will be camped out at none other than The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) for an eight-night career retrospective from April 10 to April 17. Entitled Kraftwerk-Retrospective 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 (simple huh), each night of the event will be devoted to a full live performance of one of eight of their albums in order, starting with 1974's Autobahn and ending with 2003's Tour De France Soundtracks.

While co-founder Ralf Hütter will be the only member of the original lineup involved, this is still going to kick several kinds of ass. Tickets are $25 and go onsale next Wednesday (February 22) at noon ET.

The Beach Boys Announce 2012 Tour Dates (Playing Beacon Theater)

BOOM. As foretold in ages long past (or pretty much exactly two months ago), surf rock legends The Beach Boys are celebrating their 50th anniversary with the year's highest-profile reunion tour and a new album. The band has now announced where and when that tour is taking place, and that list includes a two-night stand at our own Beacon Theater on May 8 and May 9.

Tickets are on sale for those two shows on February 21, and you can check out the full tour schedule below with onsale dates (thx BV). You can also check out that clip of them playing the Grammys with Foster The People and (ugh) Maroon 5 if you feel like it, that clip is below.

We've been big fans of Brooklyn's The Big Sleep for awhile now, and their newly-released album Nature Experiments is on heavy rotation on our musical devices. And in honor of the love-fest that is Valentine's Day, they've released an awesomely creepy music video for Nature track "Valentine." Turn your moodlighting back up, give your R. The Cribs Releasing New Album In May + Spring 2012 Tour Dates

Following a spate of festival appearances and the notable departure of legendary The Smiths / Modest Mouse guitarist Johnny Marr from their ranks, British indie rockers The Cribs are getting set to release their fifth full-length album on May 8 via Wichita Recordings. Entitled In The Belly Of The Brazen Bull, the LP finds the Wakefield natives back in their classic trio lineup with 14 new tracks, the names of which you can check out after the jump.

For a little taste of what this new record will sound like, you can grab its first Steve Albini-produced single "Chi-Town" right over here. The Cribs will be hitting the road in April and May for North American and UK tours, respectively, stopping by Brooklyn's Music Hall of Williamsburg on April 13. A limited number of tickets to the North American shows will be available for presale on the band's Facebook page beginning this Thursday (February 16), so hop on that goodness.
