Watch Radiohead Perform Two New Songs In Miami

It feels like awhile since we've heard from my favorite band in the world, Radiohead. But that radio silence (yeah I said it) ended last night as Thom Yorke and the gang kicked off their long-awaited 2012 world tour in Miami with a 25-song show featuring not one but TWO brand new songs!

Check out fan footage of "Identikit" and "Cut A Hole" below, along with a clip of Radiohead performing "Meeting In The Aisle" off of the Airbag / How Am I Driving EP for the first time ever. Oh Canada! Just the other day we shared our friend The Backstage Rider's hilarious review of Brooklyn-via-Cincinnati indie rockers The National's recent Vancouver shows, and she just now gave us a heads up that the band performed two brand-new songs during their stop at Toronto's Q LIVE show on CBC Radio.

Check out both tracks, "Rylan" and "I Need My Girl" over here. The band has been touring extensively behind 2010's High Violet (Spotify it) and are gearing up for a six-night hometown stay at Beacon Theatre beginning this Monday. Do whatcha gotta do to get into one of those shows for sure (legally, of course).

Spiritualized Releasing New Album + Touring Europe In March

Good news for Spiritualized fans, doubly so if you're a Spiritualized fan in the United Kingdom. J. Spaceman is back with a follow-up to 2008's Songs In A&E entitled Sweet Heart Sweet Light, set to drop in the US and UK on March 19. The album will feature 10 new inevitably cool space rock tracks, two of which - "Hey Jane" and "So Long You Pretty Things" - you can see performed live over here via The Guardian.

CONFIRMED: The Stone Roses Reuniting In 2012 For UK Shows and World Tour

Well there we have it. After at least a couple thousand false starts and then a glimmer of hope late last week, seminal British rock icons The Stone Roses are FINALLY reuniting in 2012, 16 years after their dissolution.

As confirmed at a press conference at London's Soho Hotel that literally just ended, the band's full original lineup has stopped beefing and will play two shows at Heaton Park in their home base of Manchester on June 29 and 30. Before you start scrounging up cash for a flight over there, though, those shows are the kickoff performances for that full-on Stone Roses WORLD TOUR we've been dreaming of for way too long now. And the best part? Frontman Ian Brown promised that all of our favorite songs will be complemented by NEW SONGS, with the possibility of a new album in the nearish future.

The dudes have a new website up with links to where you can pick up tickets at 9:30am GMT on Friday for the Manchester shows, and they'll be posting up info about the upcoming world tour as soon as available. It goes without saying that we're completely psyched for this news, and will keep you posted on US dates once we know what they are.

Fuck yeah, you guys.

WELL HOLY SHIT: Radiohead Set To Record New Material In December & January

The TV appearances, the mindblowing (and hard to get into) NYC shows, the multiple radio appearances... this is likely the most we've seen of Radiohead in the public eye in any year of the band's history, and it's been completely great. And now I have to give Rolling Stone kudos for a second time in as many days, as their new interview with frontman Thom Yorke concluded with the following:

"Radiohead are returning to the studio as well. They will work on new material at their recording space in Oxford, England, in December and January. 'We can get things together quite rapidly at the moment,' Yorke says brightly. He mentions one song, 'Come to Your Senses.' 'We have this version of it. It's a five-minute rehearsal, but it has the essence of what we need...' 'There are a few of those,' he adds. 'It would be fun to have them ready when we go to play next year. I don't know how we would release them.' Yorke smiles hopefully. 'It would be nice to make it all part of the flow and just enjoy it – not think about it too much.'"


That's right, kids. NEW RADIOHEAD MATERIAL, which we'll hopefully get a taste of early next year. Thom also mentions Atoms For Peace and the follow-up to his solo album The Eraser, which is "in flux" and apparently waiting for a bolt of genius to strike it. Betting that won't take long at all either.
