New Order @ Ancienne Belgique, Brussels (10/17): Setlist And A Ton Of Videos

Image via Lopez Lucero. Just act like Hooky isn't there.
As we've likely made clear by now, we're not based in Belgium. So what band would prompt us to devote a post to a show that they performed thousands of miles away from our home base in NYC with no corresponding tour to our city yet confirmed? That, my friends, would be British rock legends and one of my favorite bands of all time, New Order.

As faux-hawked former bassist Peter Hook angrily weighed in on, 75% of the band's original lineup - including keyboard player Gillian Gilbert! - reunited this week to play two charity shows to help raise medical expenses for ailing friend Michael Shamberg, the first of which took place last night in Brussels. There are rumors floating around that these shows could lead to an American tour, which I am at least 15,000% in favor of.

And you will be too, once you check out the setlist and select HD videos from their show last night. In addition to playing "1963" live for the first time EVER, the band tore through classics like "Ceremony," "Age of Consent," "Blue Monday," and "Bizarre Love Triangle," my personal favorites "The Perfect Kiss" and "Regret," AND a rendition of Joy Division's "Love Will Tear Us Apart" that likely had Hooky arm-wrenchingly mad.

Check out the setlist below via our good friends at Slicing Up Eyeballs and HD video via some awesome Belgian people who were in attendance. Thanks Europe!

Watch Clips From "Weird Al" Yankovic's Alpocalypse Tour Broadcast

Feels like forever since we last talked about how awesome "Weird Al" Yankovic is, but it's looking like October will be a month in which we'll do that frequently and repeatedly. This past Saturday night, Comedy Central aired Weird Al Yankovic Live! - The Alpocalypse Tour, a 45-minute broadcast of live performances from his current Fall tour and Al's first broadcast in over a decade. Gonna go ahead and assume you weren't home to watch that, but thanks to the Internet, we've got a whole bunch of videos from the performance to share after the jump, including several cuts from his latest album, Alpocalypse.

Check 'em out and pick up a ticket see him rock NYC's Beacon Theatre on October 23!

Listen: Jeff Mangum, Live In Toronto (8/13)

Image via Stereogum
If the ever-expanding awesomeness coming out of the ATP America I'll Be Your Mirror camp (like yesterday's Public Enemy announcement) has yet to convince you that theirs is the festival to be at this fall, our friends at Stereogum have tipped us off to some amazing HQ audio that proves that yes, ATP NJ highlight Jeff Mangum (Neutral Milk Hotel) is going to blow your freaking mind.

Canadian music blog Southern Souls posted a full recording of Mangum's performance at Toronto's Trinity-St. Paul's Centre last week, including classics like "Oh Comely" and "In The Aeroplane Over The Sea." As these mp3s prove, he hasn't lost a bit of the power and intensity that branded him a musical icon in the eyes of many. Check them out over there, and get an ATP ticket already, geez.
