The Beach Boys Celebrating 50th Anniversary With Reunion (Including Brian Wilson), New Album, + Tour
Surf rock legends The Beach Boys made pretty much all of their fans extremely happy this past year with the release of the SMiLE Sessions Box Set, and it turns out that was a nice prelude for what they've got in store for 2012. To celebrate their 50th (!!!) anniversary, the band has announced that they're going on a 50-stop global CELEBRATION tour starting in April ... including Brian Wilson in the lineup of Mike Love, Al Jardine, Bruce Johnston, and David Marks. The first stop on this tour will be a headlining slot at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival running from April 27 to May 6.
Oh but wait there's more! The Beach Boys are also working on a new as-yet-untitled studio album that will hit shelves next year as well via Capitol / EMI. Expect a ton of commemorative reissues as well to come throughout 2012.
Check out the band's reunion announcement video below along with footage of them performing "Do It Again" for the new album. We'll keep you posted when the full tour dates are announced!
