Nirvana's "Nevermind" To Receive Deluxe Reissue Treatment For Its 20th Anniversary

Nirvana, one of the most influential bands of all time (and one that we all feel very Fucking Nostalgic about), changed the world of rock music as we know it on September 24, 1991 with the release of its second studio album, Nevermind. And as our friends at Slicing Up Eyeballs reported this morning, the millions of fans that that seminal record touched will be able to pick up a new Deluxe Edition on September 19th in the UK and September 20th in North America, just days before Nevermind's 20th anniversary.

A post on Nirvana's website goes into all of the details around the Nevermind reissue, with Universal Music Enterprises noting that that it will be a "4 CDs / 1 DVD Super Deluxe Edition" that will include "previously unreleased recordings, rarities, B- sides, BBC Radio appearances, alternative mixes, rare live appearances" - and the most mindblowing part of all - "an unreleased concert in its entirety on DVD."

Universal Music also revealed that the 20th anniversary of Nevermind will also be marked in the months leading up to the Deluxe Edition release with special events and additional releases. We'll continue to provide updates on these celebrations as we learn more - needless to say, we're VERY excited.

  1. Would be cool if they released a remixed version that isn't so smooth and sterile sounding.

  2. yeah i'd love to get a vinyl + DVD version of this, even if that'd wind up being a huge stack of vinyl

  3. I'm with Colin. If Nevermind sounded half as good as in Utero it'd be so much better...
