Public Image Ltd Releasing First New Album In 20 Years + Record Store Day Teaser EP

Seriously, there's something in the air / water / Mayan prophecies this year, as more and more veteran bands get together and announce new albums and tours for 2012. Enter Johnny Rotten and British post-punkers Public Image Ltd., who as Slicing Up Eyeballs notes are set to release This Is PiL - their first new full-length album since 1992's That What Is Not - in either May or June.

The band will tease this release on every vinyl nerd's favorite day of the year, Record Store Day (April 16), with the vinyl-only One Drop EP that'll include four new songs to give fans a taste of the upcoming LP. If you can't wait until then, PiL will be premiering the "One Drop" single exclusively on BBC Radio's Steve Lamacq Show at 16:00 GMT... which was an hour ago. Stupid time zone difference. Anyway, check back for a clip of that!

Speaking of the BBC, PiL will also be a performing at the BBC 6's 10-year-anniversary celebration in London's Southbank Centre on March 16. Tickets are now sold out for that, but try to find a way in anyway. Good luck!
