DAMMIT: Mogwai Cancel Their American Shows This Week, Including NYC + ATP

Yes, you read that correctly. Scottish post-rock titans Mogwai - who had to postpone their April shows here in NYC to this week due to visa issues - took to Facebook just now to postpone THOSE rescheduled shows due to medical reasons. Those include tomorrow and Tuesday's shows at Webster Hall, their appearance at this weekend's All Tomorrow's Parties I'll Be Your Mirror festival, and shows in Philly, D.C., and Boston.

That is a major amount of suck for the Northeastern seaboard this week, but we wish them a speedy recovery and all the best. They promise to keep us posted on another round of rescheduled dates as soon as possible, and we'll let you know once we have that info.

Meanwhile, enjoy Mogwai's live performance of "San Pedro" from their still-excellently-titled latest album Hardcore Will Never Die But You Will on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon from earlier this summer after the jump. And keep in mind, there's now a pretty big slot at ATP for another UK band in town to possibly fill...

Mogwai shows in NYC cancelled... visa issues.

If you were planning on seeing the Scottish post-rockers Mogwai during the first five dates of their tour next week (like I was), well, it's not happening. Read their official statement below.
"It is with great regret that we must inform you that due to an unforeseen delay in their visa processing, Mogwai must postpone the following shows:
April 19 Washington, DC 9:30 Club
April 20 Philadelphia, PA Starlight Ballroom
April 21 New York, NY Webster Hall
April 22 New York, NY Webster Hall
April 23 Boston, MA Paradise Rock Club
All shows will be rescheduled to TBA dates in October. The new dates will be announced shortly.
All tickets will be honored. Refunds are available at point of purchase.
We're sorry for any disappointment or inconvenience caused, however this is entirely out with our control."
This is a major bummer. I was planning on going with friends and family, and we were all really looking forward to it. Looks like they're being rescheduled for October.
