Leonard Cohen Releasing New Album In 2012

Legendary poet, songwriter and fellow Virgo Leonard Cohen is still going strong at 77, and today he took a quick break from receiving a literary award in Spain (no big deal) to share some great news with the New York Times: he's got a new album coming out sometime next year.

Old Ideas, Cohen's first new album since 2004's Dear Heather, will feature 10 tracks, and according to the man himself, he's played it for a few people and "they seem to like it." Lucky, lucky people.

We'll keep you posted on further info about the album as it arises, but feel free to check out Leonard Cohen performing his classic "Hallelujah" after the jump in the meantime. This is especially eerie to me since I was just listening to Jeff Buckley's outstanding cover of the song like an hour ago. Psychic powers, I has 'em.

  1. I wonder if he will tour again? Seeing him at Radio City Music Hall will always be the best show I have ever been to.

  2. That'd be amazing if he did. We'll post as soon as we hear more. And very jealous that you saw him at Radio City!
