The Flaming Lips Releasing A Collaborative Track Compilation On Record Store Day

Wayne Coyne and Rivers Cuomo activating Wonder Twin powers at PNC over the summer.

In what is surprisingly not at all weird news from The Flaming Lips camp, frontman Wayne Coyne announced in an interview with Billboard that the band is planning to release a compilation of all of their most recent collaborative tracks on the next Record Store Day. These collaborations include artists like Neon Indian, Prefuse 73, and Lightning Bolt, with other collaborations planned for the future with Death Cab For Cutie (huh?), Nick Cave (cool!), and Ke$ha (what the shit).

Check out one of the songs they did with Neon Indian, "Is David Bowie Dying?" (he'd better not be), below, as we await news of a 48-hour Flaming Lips track released on a microchip in a submarine at the bottom of the ocean. Totally not outside the realm of possibility with these guys.
