Stephen Malkmus Announcing "Senator" Radio-Friendly Contest Winner TONIGHT

Oh hey. Just in case we haven't mentioned it several times already, today (August 23) is the official release day for Stephen Malkmus and The Jicks' excellent new album, Mirror Traffic. If you live out in the Los Angeles area, you're going to definitely wanna get your ass over to the landmark Amoeba Records over in Hollywood well before 6pm PT today, as that's where Malkmus and said Jicks will be playing a live set and signing copies of the record to celebrate the release.

And remember that ongoing contest to make Mirror Traffic single "Senator" a bit more radio-friendly (read: swap in a hilarious / covert substitute for the word "blowjob")? According to Matablog, the band is eschewing their original plan to announce the winner in a few weeks and is instead picking the lucky person TONIGHT during the live webcast of the show. All the more reason to tune in to see an awesome show and find out if you won! (You did enter, right?)

While you wait for that all to go down, check out "Senator" again below and see if you can think of any more clever substitutes for the not-so-radio-friendly original term.
