New Blondie Album Gets US Release Date, NYC Tour Dates

It doesn't get much more Fucking Nostalgic than Blondie, the New Wave and post-punk legends whose frontwoman Debbie Harry has famously rapped about a man from Mars who's eating cars. And as our friends at BrooklynVegan reported, fans in the NYC area will be able to see the band live this fall at the Highline Ballroom for two nights at the Highline Ballroom on September 12th and 13th. Tickets are on sale for both shows this Friday (July 8th) beginning at 9am.

The shows mark and coincide with the Stateside release of Blondie's Panic of Girls on September 13th, their first compilation of new material since 2003's The Curse of Blondie. Interestingly enough, the album contains a cover of a song by one of my favorite contemporary bands, Beirut - who will be playing NYC in support of THEIR new album about a week after Blondie for two shows, one of which falls on my birthday. Well played, everyone. Check out that cover plus some classic Blondie goodness below.
