Watch Low cover Toto’s “Africa”

It doesn’t get much more nostalgic than this. As a part of the Onion A.V. Club’s series “A.V. Undercover,” in which 25 bands will do 25 covers in one very small room, Low covered “Africa,” the popular ‘80s charity song by Toto. You can watch the video after the jump. Also be sure to check out other great covers like Titus Andronicus covering They Might Be Giants, Wye Oak covering Danzig, Iron Wine covering George Michael, and Dum Dum Girls covering Big Star.

A good friend of mine claims that “Africa” is one of the very greatest songs ever written. It’s hard to disagree, as cheesy as it is. After watching the video, be sure to check out our photos and review of Low’s excellent show at the Bowery Ballroom two weeks ago.
