BATTLES "Dross Glop" Remix Series Continues (+ Stream Shabazz Palace's "White Electric" Remix)

Battles @ ATP NJ 2011 Day Two
That four-part Battles Dross Glop 12" remix series we wrote about a couple of weeks ago is marching on. Having just dropped Part 1 three days ago, the band has announced that Dross Glop 2 will be available on February 21 in the States and February 20 everywhere else. This round of remixes include The Alchemist's take on "Futura," Kode9's rework of "Africastle," and a Shabazz Palaces remix of "White Electric" that you can stream below. Fun fun.

BATTLES Announce Four-Part Gloss Drop 12" Remix Series

Check out more shots of Battles from ATP NJ over here!

Tyondai who? Math-rock prodigies Battles have proven that they're still complete bruisers both live and in the studio with the release of their second album Gloss Drop last year and their subsequent world tour. This year, the band will follow up on that success will a new remix series called Dross Glop (see? yeah clever).

Said series kicks off with a special 12" vinyl featuring remixes of Gloss Drop standouts "Wall Street" and "Sweetie & Shag" from Gui Boratto and The Field, respectively. The 12" drops on February 6, but you can preorder it now on Bleep. And if you want an idea of what you're getting into (or are just impatient), you can stream BOTH remixes after the jump.

Enjoy, and be sure to see them live this and next month if you happen to be in Australia.

Radiohead to Release 19-Track, 2-Disc TKOL RMX Album

Via Through The Broken Mirror
Radiohead themselves have already hinted at it, but thanks to our friends at Radiohead At Ease and Japanese fansite Through The Broken Mirror, we now know a ton more about the full-on CD collection of The King of Limbs remixes that the band will release next month.

It's looking like Radiohead's more recent hint that the series would expand from four vinyl remix singles to "six or seven" is confirmed in the above artwork for the collection, appropriately entitled RADIOHEAD TKOL REMIX. The 2-CD set will drop on September 16 worldwide (except for Japan, where it'll arrive three weeks earlier) and feature 19 tracks total. The remaining remixes we have yet to hear are going to be helmed by such artists as Jamie XX, SBTRKT, Modeselektor, Objekt, Anstam and Blawan.

[UPDATE (8/10): This release is now confirmed for an October 11 release via tbd records. Thanks to The Audio Perv for the heads up.]

Check out the full tracklist below the jump, as well as a stream of the third part of the series. What do you think of the TKOL remixes so far?

LISTEN: Radiohead's "The King of Limbs" Remix Series, Vol. 3

As we anxiously wait for someone else to accidentally drop hints about upcoming live Radiohead shows, the Summer of Radiohead TKOL Remixes marches on. The band have just posted a stream of the third (and my current favorite) part of the series on Dead Air Space, and as always we've got the goods below: remixes of "Feral," "Morning Mr. Magpie," and "Separator," by Lone, Pearson Sound Scavenger, and Four Tet respectively.

There will be much more to come too. Consummate Radiohead news source Radiohead At Ease recently shared that the band has expanded the vinyl remix series from the original four entries to "six or seven," with everything all packaged up into a CD this September.

Enjoy!

LISTEN: Radiohead's "The King of Limbs" Remix Series, Vol. 2

As previously noted, FN favorites Radiohead are spending their summer vacation... NOT going on vacation and dropping a series of remixes of tracks from their latest LP, The King of Limbs. And possibly launching a tour.

They've released the second batch of tracks today for streaming, which you can do below - appropriately trippy reworks of "Morning Mr. Magpie" by Nathan Fake and "Bloom" by both Harmonic 313 and Mark Pritchard. While a delay in the vinyl shipping will prevent these from hitting US shores until August 2nd, the band assures us that the entire remix series will be put on CD when finished.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'll go back to being a neurotic fan wondering what their next move is gonna be.

LISTEN: Radiohead's "The King of Limbs" Remix Series, Vol. 1

Via Facebook.
Happy almost Fourth of July! As they announced earlier this month, Radiohead will be spending the summer gifting us lucky fans with official remixes of tracks from their latest work, The King of Limbs. The first batch, featuring remixes of "Little By Little" and "Lotus Flower" by Caribou and Jacques Greene respectively, is slated to drop on July 4th in the UK and on the 5th in the US and Canada on 12" vinyl. The second release will include remixes of "Morning Mr. Magpie" by Nathan Fake and "Bloom" by Mark Pritchard.

But because Radiohead is awesome, they're letting us listen to the first cuts earlier than scheduled on their blog. Oh, and they've included an embed code so that we can stream them here in case clicking on external links isn't your thing. Check them out as we await news on where the hell that TKOL From The Basement session is playing on US TV tonight.
