Happy Spring, true believers! We've got a glut of great news to share today, check it:

• Oh yes. As foretold by the seers, Neil Young And Crazy Horse will be releasing their new LP Americana on June 5. The legends' first new album since 2003's Greendale AND the first to feature the full Crazy Horse lineup since 1996's Broken Arrow will be a full-on American folk tribute with tracks like "This Land Is Your Land" and "Oh Susannah" (Rolling Stone)

Neil Young & Crazy Horse Set To Reunite At Paul McCartney Tribute

Dudes. We've been (rightfully) getting excited about all the great news coming out of the Neil Young & Crazy Horse camps these days. First we had the reunion announcement, then we had the epic jam session, and NOW Rolling Stone reports that the hotly-anticipated first live Neil Young & Crazy Horse performance in nearly eight years is confirmed... and happening way sooner than we expected!

In just a scant eight days from now on February 8, they'll hit the stage of the Los Angeles Convention Center to honor legendary Beatle Paul "Kisses On The Bottom" McCartney at the 2012 MusiCares Person of the Year event. We'll obviously post up any videos of the performance that surface... crossing our fingers for another 38-minute jam that will melt Coldplay's collective face off, Raiders of the Lost Ark style. 

Well Holy Shit: Listen To A New Epic Neil Young & Crazy Horse Jam Session

As if in response to the news that Neil Young & Crazy Horse are reuniting to record new material, a pretty magical thing happened over the weekend. The standard links and highlights that had previously populated Neil Young's website had been replaced with a mysterious video comprised of long, slow shots of instruments and recording equipment... and soundtracked with a newly-recorded 38-minute Neil Young & Crazy Horse jam session!

Said session doesn't include any new material, as such, but I'll be damned if I don't enjoy over a half hour's worth jamming that includes bits of "Fuckin' Up" and "Cortez The Killer" in its entirety. Check it out, and we'll keep our eyes out for more goodness to come. [via CoS]

Neil Young Set To Record New Album With Crazy Horse

In case you opened this post without knowing, let's kick it off with one of the music world's biggest truisms. Neil Young is a total badass, and the music he's made with longtime backing band Crazy Horse is among the best that's ever been recorded. There hasn't been any new music from the combined forces of Neil Young & Crazy Horse for about nine years now, but according to Rolling Stone that long drought is about to be over.

The magazine confirmed Young's statement from this past weekend's Slamdance Film Festival that he would be playing with the full lineup of Crazy Horse again for the first time since the tour for 2003's Greendale and recording new material. Said new material is currently scheduled for release this spring, and hopefully that actually ends up happening - unlike the shelved album Toast back in 2000. We'll keep you posted, and in the meantime, fuck yeah.
