One of my favorite veteran artists is working with one of my favorite contemporary artists. On August 2nd, Grammy Award winning band the Arcade Fire will drop the deluxe version of the Suburbs, only a year following its original release. While I didn’t initially understand the purpose of the release, it was announced today that the special edition package will include two new tracks, one of which will feature a guest appearance by ex-Talking Heads frontman David Byrne.
“Speaking in Tongues,” a nod to the Talking Heads’ 1983 LP of the same name, will feature Byrne on additional vocals, while “Culture War” will just be a straight up new Arcade Fire track. The deluxe edition, which will be released in a CD/DVD package, will also include an 80-page booklet of photos from the Spike Jonze directed short film Scenes From The Suburbs.
