You might notice things look a little different around here. If you’re a longtime reader of FN, this current template is probably familiar to you—but basically, the template we began using in October was causing us way too many problems. It never formatted posts correctly, we couldn’t utilize any widgets, and overall I think it made it trickier for you guys to navigate and read older posts. Changing our look for the third time in less than a year was not something we planned on doing, but ultimately we had no choice—we wanted to provide a better experience to our readers.
Some improvements have also been made to our posts that you’ll notice, most notably that we now have a Flickr Photostream for our concert photo galleries. You’ll now be able to view our photos in a slideshow format, in much higher resolution and in full screen (if you desire). Check out our recent posts on Mission of Burma and Howler to get an idea of how the embedded photo galleries look. We’ve also begun archiving the 100+ concert photo galleries we’ve posted since launching in April 2011. A lot of these photos were originally posted at a 500 pixel width, but you’ll now be able to view them as large as your computer monitor will permit.
More tweaks will be made in the next few weeks as we get reacquainted with the new template, so be on the lookout for that. And of course, we’re always open to suggestions, so please comment below if you have any. Thanks as always for being a reader!
