Ben Folds Five is BAAAAAAAACK

It seems like everyone’s getting their bands back together!

There are many reasons why I heart Ben Folds. For one, Ben Folds Five’s Whatever and Ever Amen provided a soundtrack to the beginning of my high school life when I grew tired of listening to The Downward Spiral on repeat while wearing black lipstick. Stop laughing at me!

For two, in announcing a recent recording session with Robert Sledge and Darren Jessee, Mister Folds said that a reunion album was happening “fo sho”. FO SHO. Now you’re speaking my language! In he meantime, Consequence of Sound reports that the reunited BFF will be performing at the Mountain Jam 2012 Festival in Hunter Mountain, NY that is taking place between May 31 and June 3, likely busting out some of their new tracks live.

After teasing us with a reunion performance in 2008, this news will have sissy punks and angry dwarves all over the world dancing on pianos once more. Keep your ears open for a spring release, and get ready to rock like it’s 1999.
