Replacements documentary screening tomorrow and Thursday / Tribute show afterwards

by Josh Kurp

So, remember that time Craig Finn and Tad Kubler of The Hold Steady, Ted Leo, and Tommy Ramone covered The Replacements, all during the same Matt Pinfield-hosted show? No? That’s because it hasn’t happened yet. But it will! Tomorrow at 6 p.m. at the Bowery Electric, the brand-new Replacements documentary Color Me Obsessed, featuring interviews with Colin Meloy, Robert Christgau, and members of Husker Du, among many others, will screen, followed by the BrooklynVegan presented Mats City Tribute show at 10 p.m. For a full list of artists, click here. Same deal the night after, Thursday, November 17, with a bonus no screening late show beginning at midnight.

You know the deal: get drunk, watch a movie about maybe the greatest band of all-time, get even more drunk, then shout-sing along to definitely the best song (“Unsatisfied”) to maybe the best band of all-time. Just a typical Wednesday and/or Thursday night.
