Listen: Jim Reid's (The Jesus And Mary Chain) New DJ Mix

As we mentioned... what actually feels like way more than a couple of weeks ago, one of the cool extras coming out as part of The Jesus And Mary Chain's reissues project would be an exclusive DJ set from frontman Jim Reid. Well that set has finally arrived courtesy of the band's Twitter feed (toldja to follow it), and now you can stream it in full below. The MixCloud page sums it up thusly:

Asked to compile a mix of music that reflected the records The Jesus And Mary Chain were listening to in the early days, frontman Jim Reid sent us this selection and commented - "This is typical of the music we were listening to during the year of Psychocandy, anyone of these songs could have appeared on band compilation tapes that were listened to on the tour bus etc. Any of the songs could have been selected by any band member".

As you can expect, he's got great taste - some of the bands featured include The Pogues, New Order, The Ramones, The Stooges, Velvet Underground, and more. Check it out after the jump, and pick up those reissues too.
