Download Björk's New Biophilia iPad / iPhone App, Listen To New Track "Cosmogony"

Björk has always been a musical innovator, and her upcoming album Biophilia has garnered a great deal of buzz as it sees the Icelandic songstress taking her art into a new digital world via a customized iPad / iPhone app. The Biophilia app is intended to gradually reveal all of the album's tracks as fully interactive experiences that include games, artwork, and musical notation if you feel like singing along with Björk karaoke-style, and is now available for free download at the iTunes store.

In addition to the app, the first two singles from Biophilia, "Crystalline" and "Cosmogony" (which you can also stream at Consequence of Sound) are available for purchase on iTunes or over at Björk's store. And for the super-hardcore Björk fan in your life, the singer's website note that you can also pick up the Biophilia "Ultimate Edition" which will be "presented in a lacquered and silkscreened oak-hinged lid case, [and] consists of the Biophilia Manual along with 10 chrome-plated tuning forks, silkscreened on one face in 10 different colors, stamped at the back, and presented in a flocked tray. Each fork is adjusted to the tone of a Biophilia track, covering a complete octave in a non-conventional scale. It will be made to order and fabricated only once; each case comes with an individual numbered certificate. Orders must be collected by August 12."

That pack will cost you about $800, so yeah, Björk is really going all out here.
