YES: Ted Leo To Play "The Tyranny of Distance" At South Street Seaport

Ted Leo
rules. That's a fact that's evident to anyone who has followed his career (with Ted Leo and The Pharmacists or any of his many other bands), seen him live, or even followed him on Twitter. Which is why we're excited to report, via our friends at BrooklynVegan and a pretty lengthy post from the man himself, that Ted Leo and The Pharmacists will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of their excellent album, The Tyranny of Distance, by performing the album in full at a FREE show on July 9th at NYC's South Street Seaport to kick off The Village Voice's new 4Knots Festival. They'll be joined by The Screaming Females, who the FN team saw open for Yo La Tengo late last year and are completely outstanding.

Check out a live performance below of "Biomusicology" from The Tyranny of Distance for a taste of how cool this show will be. I also posted the music video for "Me and Mia," which is a song from a completely different album but I love it anyway.
