Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark release live album, playing Irving Plaza 9/20 & 9/21

Earlier this year, the original lineup of Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark played their first North American tour since 1988 and received glowing reviews for their live show. The band has widely been cited as an influence to many modern electronic-based acts, including LCD Soundsystem, The XX and MGMT. And now OMD have announced the release of their first ever live album on CD, OMD Live in Berlin, which is out today, August 22.

The CD is a limited edition package that will include their 2010 Berlin performance in full, as well as a hard-covered book with images from the tour, never before seen hand written notes, lyrics and more. The exclusive package will be available in limited numbers—only 1,000 copies are being pressed and sold exclusively at OMD’s website.

For fans in New York City, you can catch OMD at Irving Plaza on September 20 and September 21, for which tickets are still on sale for both. Check out the tracklisting for OMD Live in Berlin and listen to “History of Modern (Part I)” below the jump…
