Diamond Rugs playing Bell House tonight and SummerStage on Sunday

diamond

Is it really a “supergroup” if none of the band’s members are exactly household names? There are big supergroups like Travelling Wilburys, Audioslave, and Velvet Revolver, and then there are the smaller ones that are really only supergroups to those who fervently follow independent music such Luna, Sugar, Wild Flag, and now Diamond Rugs.

Featuring John McCauley, most notably of Deer Tick, Steve Berlin of Los Lobos and members of Black Lips, Dead Confederate and Six Finger Satellite, Diamond Rugs is certainly one incredible lineup… to those who are paying attention. Tonight, you’ll be able to catch the band play the Bell House, but if you can’t make it in, you’ll have the chance to catch the band for FREE at Central Park SummerStage on Sunday. That show will also feature sets by the lovely (and awesome new band) Alabama Shakes and Robert Ellis. You may want to get there early, doors open at 3pm.

Can’t make it to either show? Diamond Rugs is performing live on KEXP and you can listen to it right now. Get at it. Or listen to the band’s song “Country Mile” below…
